PRESS: Cbank asks small banks to find spare partner for card sys
MOSCOW, Dec 7 (PRIME) -- Russia’s central bank has asked small banks to find a spare partner, which could service their cards in case their current sponsor bank is disconnected from international payment systems, business daily Vedomosti reported Friday citing the regulator’s letter.
“The central bank has become aware of uninterrupted card settlements at banks that work with payment systems not directly, but through a partner bank. The regulator has advised such indirect participants of payment systems to sign an agreement with one more bank, which could ensure sponsorship partnership in payment card systems,” the daily said.
The biggest sponsors of banks for participation in payment systems are Credit Union Payment Center, UralSib, VTB, Rosbank, and Promsvyazbank.
